A Look Back at an Incredible Year!

Cue the Christmas music, set up the menorah, and dig out those big comfy sweaters, ‘cus just like that, the holiday season is upon us! And between special guest visits, killer workshops, an expansion of our Mobile Division, and so much more, it’s easy to forget all of the wonderful things we’ve accomplished this year. 

While the holidays are the perfect excuse to curl up, get cozy, and daydream staring out the window wishing for snow (ok, maybe that’s just me…), they’re also ideal for reflection. So, what better way to wrap up an amazing 15th Anniversary Year at Studio K than looking back over the last 12 months of  dance-fueled fun.

Wins, Workshops & Special Events

From major community honors, to unforgettable workshops and celebrations, this year was full of moments worth highlighting.

Another Year at the Top!

When it comes to “2025 wins,” it’s tough to top our 10th consecutive “Best Of Orlando” Awards. (And yes, you did read that correctly: “awards” plural!) For ten straight years, Studio K has been voted #1 Best Studio Body and Soul by the Orlando community. This year, we also scored the #1 spot for Best Gym…above corporate tycoons like LA Fitness and Planet Fitness! 

To say we’re honored is an absolute understatement. The fact that we not only make the list of local favorites each and every year, but consistently top it, illustrates that our mission – to be an adult dance studio that is fun, inviting, and easily accessible for ALL – is not ours alone, it’s a collective movement built upon by everyone who walks through our doors. 

Workshops That Brought the Heat (& Many Feet!)

Though we can’t list every single workshop we’ve hosted over the course of the year (it would just get too long!), here’s a small list of our favorites:

• Wicked Musical Theater: Complete with Christopher Scott-inspired choreo that made us all feel like we, too, were defying gravity…and breaking the record of most attended Friday workshop; in fact, it was so popular we did two more!

• Backstreet Boys Hip Hop: …Because who doesn’t want to learn the iconic moves to the even more iconic songs? I don’t know about you, but I definitely “want it thaaaat way.”

• Hairspray Musical Theater: What can we say, Studio K is a mini NYC when it comes to having a proclivity toward all things musical theater. And Hairspray is never not a good idea. 

• Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders-Inspired Dance Team: A first for Studio K, this dance team workshop – with pom poms and all – took the big energy and vibes from the NFL, recreated the iconic and viral “Thunderstruck” routine, and adapted it so our space felt like the field. 

• K-Pop Demon Hunters: Honestly, at this point, what can be said that hasn’t already? If you haven’t seen the movie yet, do yourself a favor and at least check out the soundtrack; it’s filled with so many bangers we had to do two workshops to even scratch the surface!

Good Vibes, Great Moves: Studio K Celebrates National Dance Day

And we can’t forget National Dance Day; a whole day filled with snack-sized class samplings for FREE? Can it get any better? As Orlando’s official host of this event for the last eight years, Studio K celebrated this nationally recognized holiday with an incredible lineup of 30-minute classes ranging from musical theater-inspired Tap, to Taylor Swift-themed Ballet Rock. 

In addition, Studio K hosted our second Annual National Dance Day Showcase featuring local choreographers and dancers who gathered to present their work in a casual, intimate setting as a way to educate our audience in various dance genres, highlight our outstanding Central Florida talent, offer an opportunity for artistic creation, and entertain.

All in all, the day was a special celebration filled with lots of great dance moves and even better community; one of our favorite events year after year!

Expanding Our Horizons: From Mobile Classes to Global Visitors

We were also extremely  proud to expand our partnerships bringing our one-of-a-kind studio classes in-house to a variety of locations this year including: Evermore Resort, Windsor at Celebration, the Center for Health and Wellbeing, Windermere Preparatory School, the Downtown Arts District, and more! 

In addition, Studio K has built a strong reputation with Dance and Cheerleading Teams worldwide as the place to hold rehearsals before the big competition. This year, in addition to dozens of teams from the U.S. hailing from grade schools to top Ivy League Universities, Studio K also welcomed a huge collection of global Teams from locations including: Greece, Australia, Sweden, the UK, Scotland and Belgium! We even had the honor of welcoming Miss America contestant, and the reigning Miss District of Columbia, Katie Wadman, who rehearsed her dance talent performance at Studio K before she took to the stage!  

Celebrating the People Who Make Our Studio Home 

Studio K has had some awesome stuff going on this year, but without our fabulous instructors and dedicated members, all of these exciting goings-on just wouldn’t be possible. This year, we expanded on our Spotlight series – posts where we take the time to get to know the people who make it all happen:

We also like to take some time outside of the studio every other month to get to know each other on a deeper, more personal level. And while the goal is to foster and further our dance community, we also like to use these nights out as a way to explore and to support venues in our area! This year, we visited:

• Mellow Mushroom
