When it comes to affordable dance and fitness clothing, I’ve tried it all… the inexpensive brands, the VERY expensive brands. I’ve been on the constant search for the perfect black workout pants, and a top that is just the perfect balance between fitted and loose (and yes, that IS a thing). Considering fitness clothing (or athleisure) is all I wear (yay, motherhood and being an instructor), not only do I try all different brands, but I wash them all MULTIPLE times. So, as you take your awesome Studio K classes and want to know what brands will hold up through every single squat and every single wash for every shape and size, here is my no-fail guide to finding the absolute BEST workout gear!
My absolute favorite top is from Fabletics. It has the perfect touch of sexy without being too revealing, it washes really well, and it is snug, but not so much around my waist. I hate things clinging to me when I’m sweaty. Hate.
Old Navy… I have several great tops from Old Navy, but the graphic tops start to pill after awhile. Word to the wise – stick with Go-Dry shirts.
This may come as a huge shock, but the coolest and most comfortable sports bra I have is from Forever 21. It is so stylish and makes me feel sassy! The only advice I have for shopping bras there is SIZE UP! The things are child-size, so keep that in mind.
Fabletics. My bra from Fabletics is SO cool, has the perfect amount of padding and I’m sure for my more well-endowed gals, it is probably pretty supportive!
AC for Beachbody. During the Beachbody Convention this year (Summit), my friend snagged me some SWEET pants from the new line by Autumn Calabrese (creator of 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, Country Heat and Fixate). I call these pants the “butt pants.” Instead of the seam at your booty being straight, it’s rouched to accentuate your bootayyyy! Also, they are in no-way see through. No undies shining through on these bad boys! I want these in every color!
Old Navy has great pants. I haven’t had any see-through situations and I have washed them a MILLION times. They’ve held up great, so for the price point they are amazing!
Old Navy also has Plus-Sized options in almost every piece of activewear they offer. I love that they don’t hold back in bold prints or colors and that they make sure everyone feels sassy and ready to sweat in their clothes!
The Coach Tulin line through Beachbody is awesome! They have lots of trendy pieces that will bring motivation to any workout for sure.
Best Dance Wear:
I’m no dancer, but I pretend I’m Jody from Center Stage when I’m home alone. Instead of giving bad advice since I would just advise you to check out the new ballet line at Zara, I checked in with our Studio K Instructor Team who recommended DiscountDance.com as their place to go for brand-names for a cheaper price!
DancewearSolutions.com also had some really beautiful and trendy pieces that were definitely affordable. I might even buy myself some warm-ups. Don’t judge me!
So whatever class or workout you are able to take on, do it in comfort and style! Any questions or other suggestions of places you love to go to get your best gear, please post below and share! See you on the floor!
