Marie Tortora

Marie grew up in California, starting out performing as a young child in the San Jose Children’s Musical Theater. Marie’s continued love for performance and theater followed her into college, after moving to Asheville, North Carolina where she took an interest in fitness and health. Finding a love for group fitness and dance classes, she began teaching classes locally while studying in college as a licensed Zumba instructor. Graduating from University of North Carolina at Asheville in May 2009 with a degree in Health and Wellness Promotion, Marie moved to Tampa to work with USAA creating health and fitness programs to promote healthy lifestyle choices within the organization. Shortly after, Marie received a position in Orlando to work in the resort industry. While working as an Activities Supervisor at a Sheraton resort, she began instructing Zumba classes and other wellness classes on property.

“Zumba is more than just a workout, it’s a way of bringing people together that is healthy and fun, for both the mind and body.” Marie is currently certified as an ACE fitness instructor and is licensed in: Zumba, Zumba Gold, Aqua Zumba, and Zumbatomic (Zumba for kids).
